In 2019, the Glastonbury Police Department added a K9 program to its scope of services to better serve the community. The carefully selected K9 will serve as an integral member of the Police Department, assisting with a number of Police safety and community activities including, but not limited to:
- Finding missing persons
- Protecting police officers
- Searching buildings
- Providing support at public events
A fundraising account has been established to support ongoing program needs. Donations may be sent to the Glastonbury Police Department at the address listed below. Contributions will support the ongoing expenses associated with the program including dog and officer training, safety equipment, K9 veterinary care, food, toys, and protective clothing. Checks should be made payable to the "Town of Glastonbury" with "K9 Program" in the check memo. Donors will receive an acknowledgement letter for tax deduction purposes.
