Glastonbury Senior and Social Services is the local application site for the state’s Energy Assistance Program and the Operation Fuel Program. Social Workers are available to answer questions, complete applications and advocate, if necessary, to ensure that persons who are eligible receive the benefits.
Both of these programs provide assistance with heating bills. Please use the links for more information about these programs. Applications are taken at the Riverfront Community Center for these programs during the designated application period. Home visits may also be arranged, if necessary. Please see the links below for information and current eligibility criteria.
Operation Fuel is funded primarily by the utilities’ “Add a Dollar” (or more) program and other private donations. Money from this program is granted on an “as available” basis.
Glastonbury Fuel Bank
The Town of Glastonbury Social Services has limited funds available to assist Glastonbury residents experiencing difficult times with paying for essential utilities (heat and electric). These funds are available solely through donations from individuals, groups and businesses. Applications may be accepted at any time during the year, and may be completed by meeting with a social worker from Senior and Social Services. Please call (860) 652-7638 and ask to speak with a social worker. To make a donation to the Glastonbury Fuel Bank, please follow this link: Donations, Gifts and Contributions.
