Welcome to Glastonbury, Connecticut!

Glastonbury is a vibrant and historic town located in the center of the state, approximately 6 miles southeast of the capital city and stretching across 9 miles of the scenic Connecticut River.  We’re proud to be home to over 1,300 businesses and employ about 15,000 people in diverse venues ranging from manufacturing to the sciences. Major sectors include Class A office space, a regional scale medical doctors' campus, several hotels, and a vast variety of retail, restaurant, and business services. 

Visitors and 35,000+ residents enjoy the high-end economic development, historic sites, and open recreational spaces Glastonbury has to offer and the Town is dedicated to sustaining an exceptionally high quality of life. Direct access to the State's highway system provides efficient connections to all points in CT and the adjoining states of New York, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.  Bradley International Airport is located 22 miles north via highway.

Economic Development

Economic Development in the Town of Glastonbury is supported by the Office of Community Development, which provides a staff liaison.  The Economic Development Commission is tasked with supporting Economic Development initiatives.  For more information on this group, please visit the Economic Development Commission web page.

The Town does not currently offer any economic development incentives or tax abatement programs for commercial or industrial development, however potential commercial or industrial developers are encouraged to contact the Office of Community Development to discuss plans in greater detail.
