Responses will be opened and read aloud in the Town Hall location specified at the time and date detailed in the specification. Please contact the Purchasing Department at (860) 652-7588 for additional information. The Town of Glastonbury reserves the right to waive informalities or reject any part of, or the entire bid, when said action is deemed to be in the best interest of the Town. All Sealed proposals must be submitted to the Office of the Purchasing Agent no later than the time and date indicated. Late bids/RFPs will not be accepted. All bids will be publicly opened and read.

Respondent is required to review the Town of Glastonbury Code of Ethics adopted July 8, 2003 and effective August 1, 2003 and revised October 29, 2013 and effective November 8, 2013. Respondent shall acknowledge that they have reviewed the document in the area provided on the bid/proposal response page. The Town of Glastonbury (“The Town”) is requesting proposals from licensed, qualified general contractors for the construction of renovations to the existing kitchen and food preparation area (the “Project”) at the premises known as Glastonbury High School and located at 330 Hubbard Street, Glastonbury, CT 06033 (“the “Premises”).
The Project will include the following: An updated kitchen and food service operation including new kitchen equipment with a new layout to provide better workflow and address some existing ADA issues.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at Glastonbury High School Cafeteria, 330 Hubbard Street, Glastonbury, CT 06033, on February 20, 2020 at 3:00 PM. All bidders must attend in order for their bid to be considered.
This contract is subject to State set-aside and contract compliance requirements. Bidders are advised that a good faith effort is required for participation in this contract by Small Business Enterprises (SBE) and Minority Business Enterprises (MBE). The SBE goal is twenty-five (25) percent of the contract value, with twenty-five (25) percent of that amount (6.25 percent of the overall project) as the MBE goal.
Bidders are further advised that this project is subject to the prevailing wage requirements of Connecticut General Statutes Section 31-53.
