Overview of Eversource's 2020 Transmission Line Work - Glastonbury

Post Date:02/03/2020 8:41 AM

Eversource has informed the Town that they, along with their approved contractors, will be conducting various transmission line maintenance activities in Connecticut throughout the 2020 year.  Work will take place within Eversource’s existing rights-of-way (power line corridors) and on Eversource-owned property.  "Maintaining infrastructure is one of the many ways Eversource supports the safe and secure transmission of electricity throughout the region."

Eversource will also be continuing its inspections of existing transmission structures, both by foot and utilizing drone patrols.

Eversource work hours will typically be Monday through Sunday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Please note that these work activities will not interrupt electric service to homes or businesses.

As part of these ongoing efforts, Eversource may also be speaking with property owners in the Glastonbury community about topics such as securing off-right-of-way access on their properties.  For larger projects, (e.g. structure replacement or potential vegetation management projects), Eversource will send additional information to the Town as it becomes available, and will communicate with nearby property owners as applicable.  The Town will publish any additional information to the town website upon receipt.

All questions regarding this work should be directed to Eversource1-800-286-2000.
