July Tax/Refuse Permit Deadlines and Office Closings
As a friendly reminder, July 1 marks the beginning of several deadlines affecting Glastonbury residents:
The first installment of Real Estate, Personal Property (business), and Motor Vehicle taxes are due July 1st and payable by August 1st. Glastonbury offers several, convenient methods to submit payment so you can choose the one that best suits your schedule and needs. Pay taxes online, at any People's United Bank branch (current tax/sewer bills only), at the drop boxes at Town Hall (checks only), by mail, or in person. If paying in person at Town Hall, please keep in mind that Town office hours are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Mon-Fri, excluding holidays (e.g. July 4th). Visit the Revenue Collection payment options web page for more details on each payment option.
Refuse permits renew in July. You can renew your permit at the Transfer Station, Bulky Waste Facility, or the Customer Service Center, located in the main entrance of Town Hall, between July 1 and July 31st. Please see the FY2020 Waste Disposal Guidelines for all applicable fees, including the newly introduced senior discount, available for unlimited permits only for eligible residents ages 65 and older.
TOWN OFFICE CLOSINGS
As a reminder, Town offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4th in observation of Independence Day. This includes the Transfer Station and Bulky Waste Facilities. Town offices will resume normal operating hours on Friday, July 5. Please keep these holiday hours in mind if you’re planning to visit Town Hall to pay taxes or get your refuse permit!
