Eversource - Transmission Structure Replacement in Glastonbury
Glastonbury residents should be advised that Eversource will be performing maintenance work on a transmission line that runs through the towns of Manchester, Glastonbury, and Portland. The scope of work is to replace some of the existing wood structures with new steel structures. In Glastonbury, this work will occur in the Eversource right-of-way off of the following streets:
- East Opal Drive New London Turnpike
- Chestnut Hill Road
- Coldbrook Road
- Country Club Road
- Clark Hill Road
Eversource has submitted a Sub-Petition with the Connecticut Siting Council for five (5) of the structures in Glastonbury that will have a change in height of 10 ft or less. Property owners adjacent to these structures will receive a notification letter and a copy of the Sub-Petition. Other property owners will receive our standard notification letter. Copies of these letters are attached below for resident reference:
Work will begin by the end of the month and is expected to be complete by fall 2019. Work hours will be Monday through Sunday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Please note that this work will not interrupt electric service to homes or businesses.
Eversource has stated that the nearby property owners are being provided with a 1-800 number and an email address if they would like additional information. Additionally, the project team will be performing door-to-door outreach ahead of construction.
