Glastonbury Police Department Seeking Funding Support for K9 Program
The Glastonbury Police Department recently announced the introduction of a K9 program and is seeking donations to support this valuable community safety initiative. After finding the right dog for the program, the Glastonbury K9 will become an integral member of the Police Department, assisting with finding missing persons, protecting police officers, searching buildings, providing support at public events, and a number of other safety and community activities. Contributions will support the ongoing expenses associated with the program including dog and officer training, safety equipment, K9 veterinary care, food, toys, and protective clothing.
A fundraising account has been established to support ongoing program needs. Donations may be sent to the Glastonbury Police Department, 2108 Main Street, Glastonbury, CT 06033, with checks made payable to the Town of Glastonbury. Please note “K9 Program” in the check memo. Donors will receive an acknowledgement letter for tax deduction purposes. Glastonbury is grateful to have already received generous program donations from the Glastonbury Rotary Club, Glastonbury Volunteer Fire Department Company #2, the Glastonbury Exchange Club, the MLK Community Initiative, and private citizens and appreciates the community’s support.
Questions regarding the program or donation opportunities can contact the Glastonbury Police Department at (860) 652-4202.
