child on the Summer Recreation Swim Team. GSPO will coordinate membership and meet fees.

Summer Recreation Swim Team
(Youth ages 8-17)
Youth must be 7 by 7/15/18. A great way to try competitive swimming for the first time or continue the sport you enjoy. Meets are regional and are held weekday evenings with various swim clubs. You are required to sign up for specific practice times. Parents are expected to help at meets. Specific information will be sent to you. The GSPO (Glastonbury Swim Team Parents Organization), which supports the Swim Team program, will contact Parks and Recreation regarding work assignments and other items. Summer Long Course Practice Group
(Age 10-20 with some competitive swim experience) An endurance based practice program for those who wish to practice during the summer. Swimmers must be able to maintain a high level workout for a minimum of 90 minutes in a 50 meter pool. No meets. Program meets at Terry Pool only.

L.L. Bean Outdoor Discovery School at the Riverfront Park
L.L. Bean Outdoor Discovery schools offers various kayaking, paddle boarding and fly fishing programs at the Riverfront Park offering participants access to the scenic Connecticut River from April-October. Beginner Crew Rowing Camp by Riverfront Recapture @ Glastonbury Riverfront Park
This four-day camp introduces rowing to those with no previous experience. It’s a great way to get a head start if you’re planning to row in high school, or simply to try something new. We’ll get on the water and learn the rowing stroke, rowing terminology, and boat handling skills. Open to boys and girls ages 12-18 with no rowing experience. Intermediate & Experienced Crew Rowing Camp by Riverfront Recapture @ Glastonbury Riverfront Park
Rowing is a sport that may be easy to learn but takes a lifetime to master. Continue to improve your technique during this four-day camp that will also show how to improve your 2k time, cross training and college admissions. Runs July 24-29 from 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Fee is $495 ($250 for experienced coxswains).
Riverfront Park Boat Launch & Boat Storage
Beginning Thursday, March 1st, boat launch permits are available at the Parks and Recreation office Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Boaters must bring proof of residency and valid boat registration. Single boat launch will be open from mid April-November. Park offers 24 boat trailer parking spaces, a covered picnic pavilion, children’s playground and walking trails. Attendant on duty during the boating season. Restrooms available on site.

The Glastonbury Boathouse offers convenient and affordable indoor and outdoor storage from January 1-December 31. Storage is available with 1 boat/rack and racks are assigned. Customers can change rack assignments upon annual renewal or with approval. Renters must complete a Boat Storage Application. Racks are first-come-first-serve. Register early and move in before January 1st, at no additional cost.

Summer Pass is valid June 1-September 3, 2018. Yearly Pass is valid June 1, 2017-May 31, 2018 and allows use of all pools in summer and GHS pool in winter. You cannot register for pool passes on-line.
