ART AROUND THE WORLD
A multi-cultural approach to art in various countries. Students will make passports and visit different countries through art. Course may include project such as Japanese lanterns, Knighthood shields from England and mosaic tiles from Mexico.
Use your imagination to become an illustrator. Students will work in different mediums to create and draw cartoon characters.
DRAWING & PAINTING
In this engaging and varied workshop, youth participants will have the opportunity to make several projects that develop and strengthen basic observational and drawing skills, before moving on to explore various painting styles and media. This includes pencil, colored pencil, ink, pastels, watercolor, and even acrylic paint on canvas! Participants will be able to express their unique creativity and ideas through the visual mediums of drawing and painting.

ORIGAMI ZOO – IT’S UP TO YOU! *NEW*
How many animals can we make? We will fold a few other things like boxes to keep the small animals in, and even boats to give them a change of scenery, but mostly it is animals, animals, animals (including dinos)!
Projects may include working with wire, paper, paper mache, plaster and wood to create masterpieces which may include puppets, sculptures and masks.
Students will make the parts needed for various games and activities and use them to learn musical skills in a fun way! This may include instrument building.
For students who have never played a band instrument. The goal of this course is to help the student make a more educated choice as to what instrument to start in their regular school program. Instruments and books will be provided. Students will need to provide a #1.5 B Flat Clarinet reed. The instruments to be experienced are: Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet and either Trombone or Baritone.
Designed as a 4 week course on percussion instruments. This is for students who have never played a percussion instrument before. Students will need to provide drumsticks and a practice pad.
This is designed for students who have never taken private piano lessons. This class takes an elementary approach using electronic keyboards. Students will need their own headphones and MUST BUY a method book after the first class. Headphone adaptors will be provided.
Ideal as an introduction to instruments. Students will need to provide a soprano recorder by the second class.

BEGINNING STRINGS LESSON
Designed for students with no school lesson experience but who wish to start group lessons during the summer. Students will need their own instrument. Please indicate the instrument that will be studying when registering (violin, viola, cello, or bass).
Designed as a 4 week course for students who have never played an instrument before. Students will need to provide an appropriately sized guitar and a teacher specified lesson book.
Learn how to play this popular Hawaiian instrument that is a member of the guitar family. Campers must supply their own ukulele.
Travel around the musical world learning to play songs from Africa to Japan. This percussion ensemble will work on music including drumming, songs and dances.

In this class campers each week will focus on a different style of dance including Jazz, Ballet, Tap and Hip Hop. Good for campers who have little dance experience or even those with a few years of studio experience who want to work on all different styles.
The curriculum is based on the form and technique that is learned from the art of ballet. This dance form is taught using proper terminology, classical music and traditional dance steps. Students develop grace, poise, rhythm and the ability to perform with confidence. Campers must have 4+ years of private/studio dance experience.

Dancers have the opportunity to mix different styles into the choreography incorporating their own expression. The blend of upbeat music and dance makes this art form worthy of study. YOUNG ACTORS WORKSHOP
This is a basic acting course that includes a general introduction to theatre and acting techniques, giving campers the opportunity to perform in front of their peers. Classes will include theater games as well as class exercises in acting fundamentals such as movement and voice.

Puppets, Masks and Performing Objects *NEW*
In this class, students will explore performance through imaginative games utilizing mask work, object theatre, puppetry, and mime. Storytelling just became more than words!
ULTIMATE FUN & GAMES
You’ll play all your favorite games from PE class and learn a bunch of new ones. Each day of the week will bring a different activity or game and Friday’s is campers choice! Have a blast with your camp friends.
Try out some of the latest fitness crazes. Meditation Mondays, Dance Workout Wednesdays and Full Throttle Fridays will be just a few of the variety of classes campers will experience.
This course gives the students a relaxing break from the art and music classes by providing a chance to learn basic yoga poses & postures, breathing and relaxation techniques, yoga games and more.
