Overview: POCD Update Initiative
The Town Plan and Zoning Commission have initiated the process to update the Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD) and will be publishing a revised plan for the years 2017 - 2027. The POCD document maps out the vision for how the Town of Glastonbury will grow and preserve over the next decade. The document is a unified vision that incorporates the various aspects of planning including, but not limited to:
- Economic development
- Natural resource protection
The POCD Process
The process of updating the POCD is an inclusive one that seeks feedback and input from the public. It's also an opportunity for town departments to review the Plan and offer any substantive comments from their field of expertise that may be relevant to the POCD goals.
The revision process will consist of a series of subcommittee meetings. At each meeting, a different topic from the current plan will be reviewed and proposed revisions will be considered. The first subcommittee meeting was held on February 28th and a schedule of all committee meetings is available here. Copies of the current plan (2007-2017) can be viewed here. We welcome your participation and appreciate any input you may have.
Updates on this initiative will be published to this page as available, and can be quickly accessed via www.glastonbury-ct.gov/POCD.
