September is National Emergency Preparedness Month
September is National Emergency Preparedness Month and Glastonbury will be posting educational tips and resources throughout the month here and on our Facebook page to help our community prepare against emergencies. Each week will have a different theme and Week 1 is to Make and Practice Your Plan! The first step is creating a plan, which can be done by discussing these 4 questions with your family/friends:
- How will I receive emergency alerts and warnings?
- What is my shelter plan?
- What is my evacuation route?
- What is my family/household communication plan?
Disasters don’t plan ahead, but YOU CAN! Make an emergency plan today & practice it: Visit www.ready.gov/plan for more info or get the FEMA app with weather alerts for up to 5 locations by visiting www.fema.gov/mobile-app.
