REVISED - Hebron Avenue Construction Update - August 2018
Eastbound traffic on Hebron Ave. detoured beginning week of Aug. 13th
This announcement has been updated to include the work zone/traffic pattern link.
Motorists should please be advised that on or around Tuesday, August 14th, the Hebron Avenue Construction project is expected to advance to the next stage. This upcoming phase will likely last approximately one month and will involve changes to the allowable traffic patterns. Westbound traffic on Hebron Ave from Rt 2 towards the Town Center will NOT require any detour. Similarly, northbound traffic on House St. from Hebron Ave. towards East Hartford will continue without detour or interruption. See map depicting allowable traffic patterns through the work zone here.
Detours that will be in effect during this stage are described as follows:
- Eastbound traffic on Hebron Avenue between the New London Turnpike roundabout and Linden Street will be prohibited. Motorists wishing to proceed from the Town Center area towards Rt 2 are encouraged to use the signed detour route using New London Turnpike and Sycamore Street. See detour map below.
- House Street between Melrose St and Hebron Ave. will continue to be CLOSED in the SOUTHBOUND direction. This traffic pattern has been in place for several weeks and will remain unchanged during the upcoming construction phase. Motorists are encouraged to use the signed detour using Salmon Brook Drive and New London Turnpike.
As always, all businesses will be open and fully accessible during this period. Likewise, residential driveways will continue to be accessible throughout the work zone. The Town appreciates the public's patience as we work to improve Glastonbury roadways. Additional questions regarding this project can be directed to the Town Engineering Department at (860) 652-7735.
