Blackledge Falls Park Construction Feb - June 2018
Select trails to be closed during construction
Residents, please be advised of pending construction activity within the Blackledge Falls Park located off of Hebron Avenue along the Glastonbury/Hebron Town line. Work will generally consist of removing the existing dam structure and reestablishment of the Blackledge River stream channel. The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection supports this initiative as a means of restoring over 2 miles of habitat for multiple anadromous fish species, and the Department has issued all permits required to conduct the work.
During construction, the trails leading to and around the existing impoundment will be closed to public access and will be signed accordingly. However, residents will still be able to utilize the paved parking area and enjoy trails leading to Blackledge Falls and areas immediately adjacent. Construction is expected to commence on or around February 8 and conclude by June 30, 2018.
